Austin's Outdoor Stage Under the Open Sky

"Loved the outdoor theater, even though it rained during our concert! There are multiple bars and lots of green space to sit on. Large screens on either side of the stage that made it perfect for me to see since I'm short and always behind someone taller. We saw Cannons and Bob Moses. The speakers/sound was great. We paid more for the lounge experience which came with a private bar, two private bathrooms, and a tray of cookies. We loved the cookies but wouldnt choose this option again. The lounge would be perfect for a hot day-time concert with multiple bands but who wants to be inside for a concert? The bathroom lines were just as long at the "public" lines and the bar offered the same food and drinks. Lounge access also comes with a roof top access which was cool for a moment but you dont get a frontal view of the stage, its off to the right. Overall, beautiful space, we would just opt out of the lounge access for a night time concert."

"May 2026 Attending Moody Amphitheater for the first time, and saw Sting in concert. We arrived and had prepaid for parking. Not knowing the area that well we parked at The Capitol Tower Parking garage, which is about 1/2 mile away from the venue. When we walked towards the Amphitheater along Trinity street we were directed to walk down and around the park towards the entrance. In hind sight it may have been better to walk straight, and down some steps or the elevator to get to the entrance area. Luckily, entry was easy, and security verifies that you're not carrying anything that's not allowed into the park. Check the website for details. Basically, you cannot bring any aerosol cans into the park, but can bring pump non-aerosol ( think mosquito spray ). We sat in section 204 row F. We did not experience any mosquitoes. Luckily, the weather was halfway decent, approximately 83-84 degrees, and medium to low humidity. I did not experience any acoustical or sound issues as noted in some of the other reviews that I read. I did see some video issues early on in the show, before the sun went down, but after that, those seemed to have gotten straightened out and the last 90 minutes of the 2 hour show were fine. When leaving, we decided to leave off to the right, and use the steps of elevator to get up to Trinity street level. During the show, they have drinks available. These range from beer, to some hard liquor, to water (liquid death). There are also restrooms available for use. Overall, good time, nice evening and fantastic concert put on by Sting."

"This was my first time here for All the Feelings Tour with Metric, Broken Social Scene (my fav) and Stars. I came early with intent to walk the park a bit and go to the Capitol. They had the park partially blocked off due to Metric doing sound check which was an amazing preshow! (they sounded excellent). I parked in the Capitol visitor parking which ended up being free. I am from Houston and this is unheard of there! Parking is a literal nightmare and they charge $20-40 bucks. God bless Austin. The parking and general area is super walkable. The merch line moved fast and was right upon entry to the venue. They also had a food truck. I got a banh mi hot dog. The bar has non alcoholic choices which is always appreciated. The bathrooms were freshly cleaned as I arrived and everything is close together. Not a ton of walking to do from your seats at this venue. I screwed up, forgot to wear sunscreen and left my sunglasses in the car. Definitely don’t do that! I thought this would be more covered (similar to Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands or Miller Outdoor Theater in Houston) but not so. So direct sunlight was brutal and it’s only June. Thankfully they allow you to enter with a factory sealed water bottle (they would never allow this in Houston) so again, God bless Austin! They have several shows over the summer I would love to attend but the thought of the heat… I don’t know, man. There was a lovely breeze off and on throughout. The sound was amazing, there were some hiccups when BSS played which was disappointing, but overall the sound was great. Something I didn’t like about a concert in Austin: Sitting at a concert should be a crime! I know you paid for a seat, but come on! Get up! Dance! Have fun! Stop TALKING! Ugh. Tours constantly skip over Houston but we don’t talk over everyone’s sets! Boo on you people. I didn’t drive 3 hours to listen to everyone chat."

"Visited last weekend for a concert. There are weird tufts of grass throughout the park you can trip on, so if you're with someone who has a walking handicap, better stay on the concrete pathways. Gives Blues on the Green circa 2013 vibes. Overall, the venue is beautiful, get there early for parking-or you'll have issues finding good parking. (The capital parking garage across the street is NOT open on weekends for the venue.)"
